This week I have mostly been.......wet!
Well, we've done quite a lot since our last update which was god knows when, so thought I'd better get my arse in gear and do another one.
We've been down to Jervis Bay (2.5 hours south of Sydney) for a week which was really nice. We had xmas day down there and Jades aunty cooked us a lovely traditional xmas dinner after a champagne breakfast on the beach! :o) It's a hard life I know!
We then had 2 weeks in Sydney with Jades family and my mum, where we had a lovely house over looking Sydney Harbour (city, bridge and opera house). We had our new years there with the most amazing fireworks. Pictures to follw (yes I know I say that quite a lot!).
We've been up to the Blue Mountains - not that we could seem them as we have such thick fog and also to the Jenolan Caves which was really cool.
Since then we have bought ourselves a campervan, "Ernie" as he has been named because he's a Nissan Urvan and it rhymes! :o) (Ernie the Urvan - yes I know we are sad!)
It's got a pop top so we can stand up inside without crouching, a fridge, tv, sink, 2 ring stove and grill! You wouldn't think we were poor travellers would you! ;o)
Anyway, we've left Sydney and started our travels up the East Coast. We've currently been on the road for 6 days and covered about 1000km's. We've been to Lake MacQuarie, Newcastle, Port Stevens, Coffs Harbour and arrived today in Byron Bay.
It's been absolutely chucking it down for the last 2 days (just to make you guys feel better) and I've even had to put my rain coat on today!!!
All the places we've been to have been lovely, but Byron is the highlight so far (well it will be when it stops raining!).
The weather has been so random lately, we had the hottest day since 1939 (112 degrees) then patchy rain for the lasty week or so - certainly not what I expected for peak Oz summer!
We're going to see Russell Crowes band on Saturday which should be good - or not! But worth the 10 quid the ticket cost just for the novelty value.
Other than that we've just been up the usual stuff you'd do in Oz.
Will definitely update the photos in the next day or so.
Hope you are all well
